We’re Boiling
We are in the process of replacing the original boilers which heat the Moweaqua facility. The project has been underway for several months, following a life safety bond issue which was passed two years ago. The antiquated boilers are being removed, following an asbestos abatement project that began in August. Removal of the old boilers is almost completed, and a new concrete pad and the new boilers will then be installed. The scheduled completion date will be in approximately three weeks.

The replacement project should be completed before we encounter cold weather, but there obviously are no guarantees. Until the projects are finished, please be aware that as we transition into colder weather, our students will need to dress accordingly. Again, we should have the new boilers operating smoothly and efficiently within three weeks.

Your Student’s Information
You can access your student’s grade and discipline information on the Internet by logging on to the district website at: www.cam.k12.il.us , find the “STI Website” link and click on it, and this will take you to the log-in screen for the user name and password. If you do not have that information yet, e-mail Ken Hawley at khawley@cam.k12.il.us and request log-in information for your student(s). It is a great way to stay informed about your student’s progress. Please contact Mr. Hawley at 226-4241 if you have questions about this electronic access.

Search for New Superintendent
The Board of Education is progressing with the process of hiring a new Superintendent for the district, effective July 1, 2012. The vacancy being filled is due to the retirement of the current Superintendent, Randy Grigg. The Illinois Association of School Boards has been given the charge to advertise the position, collect resumes, and narrow the candidates. The Board will then continue with follow-up background checks and interviews. The search will take several months to complete, and periodic updates will continue to be posted as the quest progresses.

Foundation
An educational foundation has been formed for Central A & M, and information regarding its purpose and benefits, and how you can be involved will be disclosed soon. Watch for specific information this month from the new Board of Directors.
