Updates
By the time you receive this, the new boilers at Gregory Intermediate and the High School will be operating and the students and staff should be comfortable through the fall and winter months. It has been an interesting process to see the demolition of the 1953 boilers and the construction of the new heating system. The replacement models are much smaller and will be much more energy efficient. If you have students in the Moweaqua facility, your patience has been appreciated during the cooler days of late October.

Superintendent Search
The list of applicants for the position of Superintendent for the 2012-2013 school year will also be complete by the time you read this newsletter. During the first part of November the applications will be screened and the Board of Education will then begin the rigorous job of information-gathering and interviews. The top candidate may be named in the January board meeting, and will officially begin in the new position on July 1, 2012.

Foundation
An educational foundation has been formed for Central A & M, and information regarding its purpose and benefits, and how you can be involved will be disclosed soon. Watch for specific information this month from the new Board of Directors.

Time Marches On
It is hard to believe that we have completed the 1st quarter. It is a particularly good time to contact your student’s teacher(s) and discuss progress, express concerns, or ask questions. Communication is extremely important and we encourage parents to send e-mails, texts, phone calls, or simply come visit.

By the way, you can access your student’s grade and discipline information on the Internet by logging on to the district website at: www.cam.k12.il.us , find the “STI Website” link and click on it, and this will take you to the log-in screen for the user name and password. If you do not have that information yet, e-mail Ken Hawley at khawley@cam.k12.il.us and request log-in information for your student(s). It is a great way to stay informed about your student’s progress. Please contact Mr. Hawley at 226-4241 if you have questions about this electronic access.

Meetings
Committee Meetings for November will be held at the Middle School on Monday, November 14, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

The regularly scheduled Board Meeting for November will be held at the Middle School on Monday, November 21, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
