The American Civil War

The American Civil War cost more than 600,000 lives. This was a war in which families were torn apart with family members fight for different sides, the Union or Confederacy. This was a war of old technology as well as new technology. This was the first time that repeating rifles were used. These were the Henry and the Spencer rifles. Ironclads made wooden warships obsolete. Many times old technology fought against new technology with a devastating outcome.
